Typically we will visit you for a free, no commitment consultation which will normally take a half day. At this meeting we will discuss your requirements and establish whether we feel we can help.
If we can help we would then carry out a brief feasibility exercise which in general terms means obtaining outline quotations for you to consider. The cost of this is generally small and is mainly to establish whether it is worthwhile continuing to a full assignment.
Following the positive outcome of an initial feasibility exercise we will ask you to formally engage us to see the project to its final conclusion. Our engagement letter will set out the services which we will perform, the timescales involved and the basis on which we will be remunerated.
We are flexible on how we take our remuneration this can be:
 |
fixed fee for an assignment - typically on straight consultancy work |
 |
daily rate both in the UK
and in HK/China - again for consultancy work
or expediting /supplier liaison |
 |
trading margin charged on shipments |
 |
percentage of savings achieved over an agreed time period |
 |
share of equity - typically where the client has limited initial capital resources |
Normally we would
look to charge a trading margin particularly on larger
assignments. This does involve us in a large amount
of upfront work before we get paid but it does allow
the client to pay as the business builds. For our
trading margin we would also oversee quality inspections,
liaise with suppliers and organise shipping (although
the third party costs and expenses will be to the
account of the client).
The remuneration basis will be negotiated and agreed before the commencement of an assignment.
